The Good Life

I have a beef with Sears. Their slogan, as you can see, is "Good life. Great price." The problem I have with that slogan is that from what I read in the Bible, the truly "good life" has nothing to do with a Sears store.

The truly "good life" cannot be found at Sears for at least two reasons. First, anything from Sears that betters anyone's life will eventually fall apart, rust, break, or otherwise end. Something temporary can hardly be called the "good life." On the other hand, eternal life can be found in Jesus Christ (John 4:13-14). Second, my mind runs to Jesus' words in John 10:10: "I came that they may have life and have it abundantly." An abundant or full life, a life worth living, can only be found in Jesus Christ.
